Spiny Forest Distilling produces hand-crafted spirits, distilled from agave and cactus harvested by local communities. This lowers their spread as invasive species and creates sustainable livelihoods and funding for our social projects.

Spiny Forest Distilling adapts the traditional mescal-style production techniques with the terroir of the Mandrare River Valley, creating a singular distilled agave spirit. Our process is entirely deforestation free; all our fuel needs met with dried agave.

Our cactus gin is infused with the exceptional flavors of Madagascar included pink peppercorn, vanilla, and Spiny Forest botanicals.

Distillation manager Fomeisoa Masintsaotse ferments all of our spirits with with wild yeast, imparting a unique flavor to each batch.

The art for our labels is commissioned from Malagasy artists, like Ms. V, supporting their work and providing a platform to share their art.
